I’m an LA-born, Chicago-based metalworker. I see my work as an ode to what I admire in the natural world. I combine fragile elements into the harshness of scrap metal. I’ve always seen flora as a protective source, something to keep at your bedside to hold you when you cannot hold yourself. My passion for them also comes from what you can learn about history through them, specifically in terms of colonization and how they were impacted and continue to be impacted by an industry. They also become symbols of cultural identity and symbols of events such as grief, joy, and worship. I hope to encourage and engage folks to be curious about origins and their own relationships to flora.
