Bio | Art Statement
I create art as an exploration of the human condition. Through my personal experiences and the experiences of others, I explore themes of identity, otherness, alienation, faith, healing, and movement through both physical and emotional spaces. I believe that visual art touches the deepest part of us and is a conduit for our most complex emotions and psychological experiences.
I feel a connection to a wide range of artistic mediums including drawing, painting, printmaking, and ceramics, but I tend to gravitate towards painting and mixed media. Each medium communicates differently, and blending them together allows me to be experimental and playful in my work.
My art is inspired by connections with others and stories of healing and growth. I want to create work that invites others to reflect on their own experiences and find hope in the midst of their journey through pain and loss towards redemption, restoration, and healing.

A lot of my work is focused on telling the stories of people I encounter and learn from. This piece represents the journeys and experiences of several of the people I have met along the way. Through the labor pains of movement and change, hope is the common thread that weaves together the pieces of a story that flourishes.
