1. I came ot the State when I was 19. 100% accepted at University of TN in Martin. Martin is a small campus town that is about 3 hours away from Memphis. The school sent a bus to pick up all the international students. I remember I was little scared and excited. I was an outcast when I was growing up, and I understood this was my new start in my life.

2. I am the only child in my family to live in the State. I recently learned and got to know my dad’s younger cousin in Seattle. But I consider myself the only one in my close family tree. I am the one who count on me in good and bad. I learned to be strong and independent; sometimes it hurts to be strong, but I don’t mind. When I end relationships with my significant others, I usually end up saying, you can’t break me. I crossed the ocean!

3. I simply state, “I was made in Korea, programed in Korea. Sometimes i get programs updated. Nobody wants a factory setting.”

4. I usually follow what my grandmother taught me, be honest about your past, and brave towards your future. I believe i have the best of two world. My korean value and American free mind that show me anything is possible.

5. In my mind, I am a Korean queen. Art queen. I want to continually express my thoughts one painting at a time.

I am a Korean artist based in Chicago. I have been living and creating arts in Chicago about 10 years after a long break.

I use my brush strokes and vibrant colors to express my emotions in my work. My philosophy of my colors are no colors are what they might seem to be.
